Pursuing a casino in the prairie

RPM Advertising specialized in designing for the gaming community. So, when Trailhead Casinos began their bid for a gaming license in the state of Kansas, they came to us. The challenge was to create an identity for this new venture, brand it’s various on-property venues/amenities, and create goodwill in the hearts and minds of a very conservative population.

Taking inspiration from the things that make Kansas famous, I created a logo combining wheat, Prairie-Style architecture, and the black diamond on ski trails (harkening back to the original name for the casino). Once this direction had been chosen, I carried it through billboards, ads, advertorial newspaper supplements, and direct mail.
